Who we are
Prior to forming Schatzman & Hovanyecz, P.A., both Mr. Schatzman and Mr. Hovanyecz spent their legal careers representing insurance carriers. This representation spanned the gambit of pre-suit insurance representation and first-party litigation, from conducting Examinations Under Oath, depositions, and all aspects of litigation. Both Mr. Schatzman and Mr. Hovanyecz handled a wide array of property insurance claims, from hurricane damage to fire claims and total losses.
We have seen how insurance companies conduct their investigations and are well versed at how claims are adjusted. We understand the protections needed for the Florida consumer and policy holder. Based on this experience, we are able to effectively articulate their positions and anticipate the various methods that the insurance company and their defense counsel will employ. The time spent working for the insurance company has provided Mr. Schatzman and Mr. Hovanyecz with invaluable knowledge and information that will ensure knowledgeable and effective protection for our client’s and policy holders.
IAN B. SCHATZMAN, ESQ.
Ian B. Schatzman was born in Miami, Florida and grew up in Aventura. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Florida, he returned to South Florida to attend law school at Nova Southeastern University where he received his Juris Doctor degree.
ZOLTAN HOVANYECZ, ESQ.
Zoltan Hovanyecz was born in Hungary and came to the United States with his parents as a child. Zoltan grew up in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area and attended the University of South Florida were he received a bachelors degree in finance. After working at a number of law firms, Zoltan moved to Fort Lauderdale where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from Nova Southeastern University. Zoltan was also a staff member on the Nova Southeastern Law Review.
